WISE GETS NEW PROGRAM DIRECTORWISE Coalition donated 36 porcelain coffee cups to Jacob's Place Homeless Mission at our June coalition meeting. Jacob's Place was established to serve homeless families in White County. WISE would like to thank Kathryn Reams, the Executive Director, for accepting our donation on behalf of Jacob's Place.

White county cares hears from wiseWhite County Cares (WC CARES) recently received an update from White County Invested in Substance Abuse Eradication (WISE) Coalition about prescription medication misuse and abuse. Rachel Tims, the program director of WISE, and Arthur Churchill, program coordinator, discussed recent projects including drug take-back events, Assessment Prevention Needs Survey (APNA) data, and the QuikTip app. QuikTip is a free app to send anonymous tips about crime, drugs, bullying, and underage drinking to White County 911.

Searcy rotarians hear from wise coalitionWISE Coalition Program Director Rachel Tims, discussed the program with Searcy Rotary Club. The coalition works to reduce underage drinking by talking to schools and organization. It also is involved in the collection of prescription medication for disposal. Through drop boxes, Arkansas collected 25,289 pounds to incinerate in 2015.
